BCTV-2 Program Director’s Report, Nov 15, 2007
Equipment and Facilities: Although our server has been working great, we need to be prepared for a malfunction. My greatest fear is that a hard drive could fail and we might lose data. We therefore need to develop a good data backup plan. Currently we have saved some files our “edit” computer, but when we get some extra money, I think we should buy a backup hard drive. Our facility is looking quite a bit neater due to the hard work of Tim Woitowitz and a young fellow involved in the restorative justice project. We were able to reorganize the outer loft area, moving much of the city owned construction debris to a corner of the loft. We also reorganized the equipment storage area. There have been a couple chilly days in our office and we have had to run a small space heater in order to keep the temperature reasonable warm. Last month our electic bill was $84. I suspect it will be higher for the next few months. Programming: I recorded a pilot for a potential new series “Tai Chi through the seasons” with David Hurley. This may be a good morning alternative exercise program. Waterfall Arts has provided us with the keynote presentation by architect Pliny Fisk at their recent “Art and Nature symposium”. We are also going to be showing the “Roast” of our new ex-mayor,Mike Hurley. Many thanks to Diane Mende for making this program available to us. Another local program airing this month is the Waldo Couny Fiddlers’ showcase that took place recently at the Blue Goose in Northport. There will be a gathering of mid-coast video folks taking place on November 30th in Rockland. I am hopeful to meet some new people who might contribute programming to the station. Respectfully submitted by Ned Lightner

Equipment and Facilities No technical issues to report on, as everything seems to be working well. Programming: We have added a daily morning show provided by NASA TV. It is educational programming geared to teachers and students and airs daily from 8-9AM. The first KWRED-TV program has begun airing on the channel. This monthly half hour program is produced by the Knox, Waldo regional economic development council. It is interesting and well done and I believe it is a great addition |
